Welcome to Youth in Orbit. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Youth in Orbit webpages, online forms, applications, registrations, resources, and other digital services made available through the Maison d’Aphelion website.

Youth in Orbit is a youth horology, design, entrepreneurship, leadership, and experiential learning initiative founded and operated by Maison d’Aphelion.

By accessing Youth in Orbit webpages, submitting an application, registering for an event, providing information through an online form, or otherwise using Youth in Orbit digital services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you are the parent or legal guardian of a minor who participates in Youth in Orbit, you acknowledge that certain program activities require additional applications, agreements, acknowledgments, permissions, releases, or other documentation before participation is permitted.

1. Purpose of Youth in Orbit

Youth in Orbit provides educational programming, mentorship, experiential learning opportunities, watch design education, entrepreneurship education, leadership development, community engagement, events, exhibitions, travel opportunities, and other activities consistent with the mission of the program.

Information presented on the Youth in Orbit website is provided for general informational and program administration purposes.

Nothing on the website guarantees admission, enrollment, participation, credential attainment, travel eligibility, employment, internships, scholarships, financial assistance, awards, business opportunities, or any other particular outcome.

2. Eligibility and Participation

Youth in Orbit programs may establish eligibility requirements based on age, grade level, geographic location, program capacity, attendance expectations, conduct standards, prerequisite completion, application criteria, or other factors established by Youth in Orbit.

Submission of an application does not guarantee admission.

Admission to one Youth in Orbit program, cohort, event, activity, or experience does not guarantee admission to any future program or opportunity.

Youth in Orbit reserves the right to establish and apply reasonable selection criteria consistent with its mission, policies, available resources, and program capacity.

3. Applications and Accuracy of Information

Applicants, students, parents, guardians, volunteers, partners, and other individuals submitting information to Youth in Orbit are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and current information.

Youth in Orbit may request additional documentation or clarification when reasonably necessary to evaluate an application, protect student safety, administer programming, verify eligibility, or comply with legal or organizational requirements.

Providing materially false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information may result in denial of an application, withdrawal of an offer of participation, removal from a program, or other appropriate action.

4. Minors and Parent or Guardian Consent

Participation by minors may require the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Certain activities may require separate authorization, including but not limited to:

• Program enrollment;

• Emergency contact information;

• Medical and allergy information;

• Medication administration;

• Transportation;

• Field experiences;

• Photography, video, and media use;

• Domestic or international travel;

• Participation in public events or exhibitions;

• Use of technology platforms;

• Other activities determined by Youth in Orbit.

Website use, application submission, or general program registration does not replace any separately required consent, release, acknowledgment, or authorization.

5. Program Policies and Governing Documents

Students, families, staff members, volunteers, instructors, chaperones, guests, and other program participants may be subject to additional policies, procedures, handbooks, agreements, and standards applicable to their roles.

These may include the Youth in Orbit Operating Manual, Student Handbook, Parent & Family Handbook, Swiss Experience Guide, codes of conduct, safeguarding requirements, travel agreements, event rules, credential standards, and other official program documents.

Where a separate signed agreement or program-specific policy applies, that document governs the particular activity or relationship addressed by that document.

6. Program Changes

Youth in Orbit may modify program schedules, curricula, activities, instructors, locations, events, field experiences, travel plans, eligibility requirements, program offerings, or other operational details when reasonably necessary.

Changes may occur because of safety concerns, weather, emergencies, facility availability, staffing, funding, transportation, partner availability, government requirements, international conditions, or other circumstances.

Youth in Orbit will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes to affected participants and families.

7. Credentials and Recognition

Youth in Orbit may award credentials, certificates, distinctions, leadership appointments, recognitions, or other forms of acknowledgment based on established program standards.

Participation alone does not guarantee the award of a credential.

Students may be required to demonstrate knowledge, skills, competencies, attendance, conduct, project completion, leadership, service, or other requirements established by the applicable credential standard.

Youth in Orbit reserves the right to deny, defer, correct, revoke, or reissue credentials when permitted under applicable program policies, including in cases of administrative error, academic dishonesty, misrepresentation, failure to satisfy requirements, or other circumstances established by Youth in Orbit policy.

8. Student Work, Watch Designs, and Cohort Projects

Youth in Orbit encourages creativity, design, innovation, and collaborative work.

Students may create sketches, presentations, written materials, watch concepts, marketing materials, business plans, photographs, videos, prototypes, research, and other works during program activities.

Ownership and permitted use of student-created work will be governed by applicable program agreements, enrollment documentation, cohort project policies, and other written Youth in Orbit policies.

Collaborative cohort projects, including watches developed through the Youth in Orbit program, may involve contributions from multiple students, instructors, advisors, manufacturers, designers, Maison d’Aphelion personnel, and other participants.

Participation in a collaborative project does not, by itself, establish individual ownership of the resulting product, intellectual property, brand, design, revenues, profits, royalties, or other commercial rights.

Any rights, revenue-sharing arrangements, student benefits, charitable allocations, or other interests associated with cohort products will be governed by applicable written Youth in Orbit policies and agreements.

9. Youth in Orbit Watches and Products

Youth in Orbit may develop, manufacture, exhibit, market, sell, or otherwise distribute watches, merchandise, publications, or other products associated with student programming.

Product availability, production schedules, specifications, pricing, delivery estimates, sales channels, and other commercial terms may change.

Where products are offered for sale, additional purchase terms, preorder policies, warranties, return policies, shipping policies, or other commercial terms may apply.

10. Swiss Experience and Travel Opportunities

Participation in Youth in Orbit does not guarantee participation in the Swiss Experience or any other travel opportunity.

Travel eligibility may be determined through established readiness, attendance, conduct, academic, credential, application, documentation, health and safety, funding, and other program requirements.

Travel opportunities may be modified, postponed, relocated, or canceled because of funding limitations, safety concerns, international conditions, government restrictions, transportation disruptions, insufficient participation, emergencies, or other circumstances.

Additional agreements, releases, medical documentation, passport requirements, insurance requirements, emergency information, and travel documentation may be required.

11. Safety and Safeguarding

Youth in Orbit is committed to maintaining environments that support student safety and wellbeing.

Participants are expected to comply with all safeguarding requirements, supervision rules, facility requirements, emergency procedures, tool and equipment restrictions, transportation procedures, codes of conduct, and other applicable safety policies.

Youth in Orbit may restrict or terminate participation when reasonably necessary to protect students, staff members, volunteers, partners, visitors, or the integrity of the program.

Emergencies, safeguarding concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, threats, dangerous conduct, and other serious matters may be reported to parents or guardians, emergency services, law enforcement, child protective authorities, or other appropriate entities when required or permitted by law.

12. Medical Emergencies

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate and current emergency contact, medical, allergy, medication, accessibility, and other relevant information required by Youth in Orbit.

In an emergency, Youth in Orbit personnel may contact emergency medical services and take reasonable actions consistent with applicable authorizations, organizational policies, and law.

Participation in Youth in Orbit does not create a physician-patient, therapist-client, or other healthcare provider relationship between participants and Youth in Orbit, Maison d’Aphelion, or their personnel.

13. Conduct

All participants are expected to treat students, families, staff members, volunteers, instructors, guests, partners, and community members with respect.

Harassment, discrimination, bullying, threats, violence, retaliation, theft, intentional property damage, serious disruption, possession of prohibited items, unsafe conduct, or other violations of Youth in Orbit policies may result in intervention or disciplinary action.

Depending on the circumstances, action may include restorative measures, conferences, corrective action plans, temporary restrictions, suspension from activities, removal from the program, referral to appropriate authorities, or other measures permitted by Youth in Orbit policy and applicable law.

14. Photography, Video, and Media

Youth in Orbit may photograph, record, or document program activities for educational, archival, promotional, fundraising, reporting, or other legitimate organizational purposes.

When authorization is required, Youth in Orbit will obtain applicable consent through its media consent processes.

Submission of an application or use of the website does not, by itself, constitute consent for the public use of a minor participant’s image, likeness, voice, or identifiable creative work.

15. Website Content and Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Youth in Orbit name, logos, branding, curriculum materials, publications, website content, graphics, photographs, videos, program documents, credential system, and other organizational materials are owned by or licensed to Maison d’Aphelion or Youth in Orbit and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, republished, sold, commercially exploited, modified, distributed, or used to create derivative programs or materials without appropriate authorization.

Limited personal, noncommercial use of publicly available website materials is permitted unless otherwise stated.

16. Acceptable Use

Users may not use the Youth in Orbit website, forms, systems, or digital services to:

• Violate applicable laws;

• Impersonate another person;

• Submit fraudulent information;

• Attempt unauthorized access to systems or information;

• Introduce malicious code or interfere with website operation;

• Harvest personal information;

• Harass or threaten others;

• Infringe intellectual property rights;

• Exploit minors;

• Use Youth in Orbit materials for unauthorized commercial purposes;

Youth in Orbit and Maison d’Aphelion do not control all third-party services and are not responsible for their independent content, availability, security practices, privacy practices, or terms.

Users should review applicable third-party terms and privacy notices before using those services.

19. Donations, Sponsorships, and Financial Support

Youth in Orbit may accept donations, sponsorships, grants, gifts, or other forms of financial support in accordance with applicable organizational policies and law.

Unless otherwise stated in a written agreement, financial contributions do not provide the donor or sponsor with authority over student selection, credential decisions, curriculum, safeguarding matters, personnel decisions, or other institutional operations.

Restrictions on gifts, sponsorships, or funding must be accepted in writing by an authorized representative of Youth in Orbit or Maison d’Aphelion.

20. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Youth in Orbit is designed to provide meaningful education, exposure, experience, mentorship, and opportunities for student development.

However, Youth in Orbit does not guarantee employment, admission to educational institutions, business success, investment, professional certification, travel participation, scholarships, income, contracts, manufacturing opportunities, or other specific results.

Individual outcomes depend on numerous factors, including participation, effort, conduct, opportunities, external circumstances, and decisions made by independent third parties.

21. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Youth in Orbit website and publicly available digital content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Youth in Orbit and Maison d’Aphelion do not warrant that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes rights or protections that cannot legally be waived.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Youth in Orbit, Maison d’Aphelion, and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising solely from use of or inability to use the public Youth in Orbit website.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.

Program participation, travel, transportation, events, equipment use, and other activities may be governed by separate agreements and applicable law.

23. Suspension or Termination of Access

Youth in Orbit may suspend or terminate access to website features, applications, accounts, systems, events, or other digital services when reasonably necessary because of violations of these Terms, security concerns, fraud, misuse, threats, legal requirements, or other legitimate organizational reasons.

24. Changes to These Terms

Youth in Orbit may update these Terms & Conditions periodically.

The current version will be posted on the Youth in Orbit website with the applicable “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of the website after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

Material changes affecting enrolled students or families may also be communicated through appropriate program channels.

25. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms will be addressed in the appropriate courts or forums having jurisdiction, unless another written agreement establishes a lawful alternative dispute-resolution process.

26. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

27. Entire Website Terms

These Terms & Conditions constitute the general terms governing use of the Youth in Orbit website and related public digital services.

They do not replace separately executed applications, enrollment agreements, releases, authorizations, contracts, handbooks, travel agreements, sponsorship agreements, vendor agreements, or other governing documents.
